1. Who we are
This policy applies to AUZ Gallery Pty Ltd (ABN 90 703 631 396, ACN 703 631 396), a company registered in Victoria and based in Epping VIC 3076 ("AUZ Gallery", "we", "us"). It covers personal information we collect through this website, by email, and in the course of exhibitions, art sales, framing, hanging and events.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) to the extent they apply to us. Where they do not strictly apply, we follow them as a matter of good practice.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and provide our services. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name, email address and any other contact details you choose to give us;
- the content of your enquiry, including photos, measurements or descriptions of artworks and spaces;
- delivery or installation addresses, where you buy a work or book framing, hanging or installation;
- records of quotes, purchases, bookings and correspondence;
- for artists, information about you and your work needed to exhibit, sell and credit it, and to pay you.
We do not ask for sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act. Please do not send it to us unless it is needed for your enquiry.
Under APP 2, you may contact us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general questions. We will need your name and contact details to quote, sell, deliver or book anything.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, usually when you email us or use the enquiry form on our contact page (which opens a message in your own email program). We may also collect it in person at exhibitions or events, or from someone acting on your behalf, such as a colleague arranging artwork for a workplace.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- reply to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- process sales, framing orders, installations and event bookings;
- arrange delivery and installation;
- credit, pay and communicate with artists;
- keep business, tax and accounting records required by law.
We will only send you news about exhibitions or events if you have asked us to, and every such message will tell you how to stop receiving them (APP 7).
5. Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only where needed to provide what you have asked for, or where required by law, for example to:
- couriers or installers who deliver or hang a work for you;
- an artist, where you buy their work and they need to know who acquired it (only with your agreement);
- our accountant or professional advisers;
- government agencies where we are legally required to.
6. Overseas handling
Our website and email are run using third-party hosting and email providers, which may store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
7. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other sites. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies and keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are not used to identify you.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure (APP 11). We keep records only for as long as we need them for the purpose collected, or as required by law, such as tax record-keeping obligations. After that we delete or de-identify them.
9. Access and correction
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete (APPs 12 and 13). Email ceo@auzgallerytec.site. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how to complain.
10. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please email ceo@auzgallerytec.site with details. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it and give you a written response.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
